Justitia Chambers was set up by Elaine Cheeseman and Shivani Jegarajah in November 2016. Elaine is Chambers Director, a former Senior Clerk and Chambers Manager with over 30 years' experience. Shivani has been practising in asylum and immigration law for 25 years. She has been ranked in Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and Lawyer Monthly.
Elaine & Shivani have been working together for a number of years and set up Justitia to give its members a flexible structure and the freedom to practise and develop as individuals. Our key strengths are efficient and professional administration that serves both instructing solicitors and lay clients effectively.
We aim to encourage the careers of working parents and carers given that this is our own background. It is for this reason that we operate a virtual office with its administrative hub outside London but with a serviced office in Gray's Inn Road, close to the Courts and Tribunals, where our members have conference facilities available to them.
We believe in developing close working relationships with our instructing solicitors but we also welcome enquiries from potential public access clients via Bar Direct.
As we expand, we hope to recruit other members who wish to take advantage of this kind of flexible working environment, giving them the opportunity to achieve a better work-life balance yet with the infrastructure and commitment behind them to fully support their practices. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in becoming part of this exciting and innovative leap into the future, either as tenants or associate tenants.
